What does the gin making kit include?
The juniper and botanicals plus full instructions. You add a bottle of vodka. There is no still and no distilling.
How does the gin making kit work?
You steep the botanicals in vodka, leave it to infuse, then strain. It is compound gin, the same method used for classic bathtub gin.
Do I need a still?
No. The kit makes gin by infusion, so there is no distillation, no licence and no special equipment.
How long does it take to make gin?
The standard kit infuses in under a week, so you can go from vodka to gin in a matter of days.
What alcohol do I use?
A plain bottle of vodka. A smooth, uncoloured vodka you would happily drink gives the best result.
Why does a gin kit need vodka?
Gin starts life as neutral spirit, and vodka is exactly that. The botanicals infuse straight into it to make gin, without a still.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. If you can steep a bag of tea you can make this gin, and the booklet walks you through every step.
